NEWS: “USDA NRCS Awards $200k to NUFFI”

The USDA-NRCS has granted $200,000 to the Newburgh Urban Farm and Food Initiative (NUFFI) to create a Comprehensive Master Plan for Urban Agriculture in the City of Newburgh, NY. The grant aims to unite community organizations and residents to devise a plan that enhances access to healthy food for all residents, ultimately addressing and eliminating food insecurity in the city. Ramona Burton, Chair of the NUFFI Board, expressed excitement about the recognition and the collaborative opportunity to combat food insecurity. The initiative plans to engage city leadership, civic and religious organizations, nonprofits, and residents in this comprehensive effort.
